Growth vs. Value: Two Approaches to Stock Investing

Among the many different styles of equity investing, the growth and value approaches stand out as among the most prominent. Growth investors seek companies that offer strong earnings growth potential, while value investors look for stocks that appear undervalued by the marketplace. Because the two groups of stocks may not move in the same direction or to the same extent, investors can potentially reduce risk by combining the two approaches.
